Funny, but the timer says 8 months for everyone on map.
Yes, this is a known bug. It doesn’t show 8 months for everybody, just for those who are in a Timezone ahead of your timezone.
It has since been fixed and a new version sent out for Apple’s approval. Hopefully it will appear on the AppStore soon.
